On 23 June 2026, in Vienna, Republic of Austria, a meeting was held between Minister of Finance of the Republic of Tajikistan Faiziddin Sattor Kahhorzoda and Waleed Al-Bahar, Director General of the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development.
As part of the meeting, a signing ceremony was held for the Loan Agreement between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development for the “School Development” Project.
The Agreement was signed by Minister of Finance of the Republic of Tajikistan Faiziddin Sattor Kahhorzoda and Waleed Al-Bahar, Director General of the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development.
The total amount of the Agreement is KWD 6.0 million (equivalent to USD 20.0 million), provided entirely in the form of a concessional loan. In addition, USD 4.5 million will be financed under the project through a contribution from the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.
The objective of the project is to develop and improve general education, meet the country’s educational needs, and accommodate the growing number of students through the construction and equipping of a number of educational institutions in various cities and districts of the Republic of Tajikistan.
