In the afternoon of 23 June 2026, in Vienna, Republic of Austria, a joint meeting was held between Minister of Finance of the Republic of Tajikistan Faiziddin Sattor Kahhorzoda and Minister of Energy and Water Resources of the Republic of Tajikistan Juma Daler Shofaqir and Ms. Anna Bjerde, Managing Director of Operations at the World Bank.
At the beginning of the meeting, the delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan expressed its appreciation to Ms. Anna Bjerde, Managing Director of Operations at the World Bank, for the Bank’s continued support in financing vital development projects, particularly in the energy, transport, and agricultural sectors, as well as for its support to the state budget.
The parties also discussed the current state and prospects for the development of bilateral relations between Tajikistan and the World Bank, including the financing process for the country’s strategic project — the construction of the Rogun Hydropower Plant facilities — and the mobilization of investment from international financial institutions for this vital project.
