On January 13, a meeting was held in the hall of the executive body of state power of Khatlon Region to summarize the socio-economic results of the region for 2024.
The meeting was attended by the Deputy Prime Minister of the country, Sulaymon Ziezoda, ministers and heads of several republican agencies, deputy chairmen of the region, the head of the chairman’s apparatus, responsible persons of the management and departments of the chairman’s apparatus, chairmen of cities and districts, chairmen of town and village assemblies, and other activists.
Opening the meeting, the Chairman of Khatlon Region, Davlatali Said, noted that in 2024 activists and workers of Khatlon Region summed up the socio-economic development of the region with positive results and, like all the people of our beloved republic, made efforts to implement the instructions and directives of the Founder of Peace and National Unity, the Leader of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, respected Emomali Rahmon.
“It should be noted that the instructions and directives of the Leader of the Nation have contributed to sustainable socio-economic development, increased production volume, ensured abundance in consumer markets, the creation of industrial enterprises and workshops, the creation of new jobs, strengthening the sectors of education, healthcare, culture, and raising the welfare of residents. Overall, the socio-economic indicators of the region in 2024 were positive,” added Chairman Davlatali Said.
The head of the region expressed confidence that activists and workers of the region will continue to work on implementing the instructions and directives of the Founder of Peace and National Unity – the Leader of the Nation, President Emomali Rahmon – in his latest Address, as well as the strategic goals of the country, the proper implementation of local and sectoral programs, expansion of beautification and construction work in honor of the 35th anniversary of the state independence of the Republic of Tajikistan, efficiently using all opportunities and taking necessary measures to ensure economic and social development of the region.
Next, a report was heard from Deputy Chairman of the region, Mirzozoda Muzaffar, on the key socio-economic indicators of the region for the past year.
Additionally, the Deputy Chairman spoke about achievements in industry, social sectors, roads and transport, activities of free economic zones, and tourism development.
It was noted that in honor of the 35th anniversary of the state independence of the Republic of Tajikistan, according to the plan, 6,260 facilities are planned for construction in the cities and districts of Khatlon Region, with over 3,500 buildings and structures already commissioned. In 2024 alone, more than 1,240 facilities of various purposes were commissioned, creating hundreds of jobs.
Deputy Prime Minister Sulaymon Ziezoda emphasized in his speech that all efforts should be directed toward sustainable development of all economic sectors, expansion of beautification and construction works, protection of the achievements of state independence, and increasing the welfare and peaceful, happy life of the region’s residents.
During the meeting, Chairman of Khatlon Region Davlatali Said asked responsible officials of relevant institutions and chairmen of cities and districts questions on current issues requiring their timely resolution.
Agriculture remains one of the priority and key areas of socio-economic development in Khatlon Region and plays an important role in ensuring the country’s food security and supplying local raw materials to industrial enterprises.
Special attention and continuous support from the Founder of Peace and National Unity – the Leader of the Nation, respected Emomali Rahmon – are directed towards sustainable development of agriculture, including strengthening effective and rational use of land, modern technologies for cultivation and growing agricultural crops, use of high-quality and high-yield seeds, improving soil fertility, increasing the production of competitive domestic products, and ensuring abundance in consumer markets and accelerated growth of production indicators overall.
It was noted that leaders, activists, and workers of the region daily adopt the instructions, directives, and tasks outlined in the Address of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan to the Supreme Assembly and increase their responsibility and activities to implement them.
Then Chairman of Khatlon Region Davlatali Said instructed heads of regional and local organizations and institutions, as well as chairmen of cities and districts, to ensure the fulfillment of tax plans, effective and rational land use, irrigation and involvement of unused lands into agricultural turnover, preparation of economic sectors for the upcoming cold season, promotion and cultivation of patriotism among citizens, mobilization of youth into the Armed Forces, prevention of electricity losses and collection of electricity payments, prevention of crime and negative behavior among youth, prevention of youth involvement in banned parties and movements, illegal religious education, attraction of investments into the regional economy, and expansion of beautification and construction works.
It was emphasized that leaders, activists, and workers of the region daily embrace the instructions and tasks set forth in the President’s Address and intensify their responsibility and efforts for implementation.
