On March 19, during a working visit to the T. Sadriddinov and Tadjorin jamoats of the Shakhrisabz district, Chairman of the Khatlon Region, Davlatali Said, took part in the campaign to begin cotton planting under plastic mulch in the Ismoili Somoni and Ergash Bobokulov dehkan farms.
The head of the Ismoili Somoni dehkan farm, Abdullo Karimov, reported that the farm has 4.00 hectares of land, of which 3.5 hectares are planted with cotton under plastic mulch.
The Ergash Bobokulov dehkan farm was established on a total area of 5.46 hectares, with 3.8 hectares sown with cotton under plastic mulch.
The regional chairman spoke with the farmers, offering useful advice and recommendations on adhering to agrotechnical rules, more efficient land use, and increasing agricultural production.
Following the instructions and directives of the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, respected Emomali Rahmon, who addressed farmers at a major government meeting, this year cotton planting will be carried out on an area of 124.5 thousand hectares in the Khatlon region, of which 41 thousand hectares will be planted using the new plastic mulch method.
