Chairman of Khatlon Region and Minister of Agriculture Visit Locust Control Branch in Bokhtar
Chairman of Khatlon Region Davlatali Said and the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Tajikistan, Kurbon Hakimzoda, visited the Bokhtar branch of the State Institution "Locust Control Expedition."
It was reported that the branch is equipped with 22 units of machinery and other necessary equipment, ready for deployment to protect agricultural crops from pests.
During the meeting with the branch staff, the Chairman emphasized the importance of taking prompt measures to prevent the spread of pests, including locusts, particularly in the districts of Panj, Khuroson, Jayhun, and Vakhsh. He instructed workers in the sector to ensure timely preparation of machinery and pesticides to protect crops from infestation.
It was also noted that to prevent the spread of Moroccan locust invasions in the Khatlon Region, a locust control headquarters has been established. Each year, this headquarters provides pesticides, fuel, and other essential resources to curb the spread of locusts.
