On January 12, 2025, an advisory meeting of the country heads of the Islamic Development Bank was held in Madinah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, during which Majidi Yusuf Khairullo, First Deputy Minister of Finance of the Republic of Tajikistan/Alternate Director of the Islamic Development Bank, spoke on behalf of the Republic of Tajikistan. During the meeting, Majidi Y. H. He noted that thanks to the far-sighted policy of the Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, Tajikistan's cooperation with reputable international organizations, especially the Islamic Development Bank, has expanded and reached a qualitatively new level.
It was noted that in 2024, agreements were signed between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Islamic Development Bank on financing the country's priority projects in the amount of 200 million US dollars, in particular on the continuation of the construction of the Rogun hydroelectric power station for a total of 150 million US dollars. At the same time, the Islamic Development Bank requested additional funds for the country's priority sectors, in particular digitalization, green economy, transport, food security and human capital development, which was welcomed.
