On July 3, in the city of Astana, the Founder of Peace and National Unity - Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, respected Emomali Rahmon, within the framework of the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, met with the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, respected Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
At the meeting, various aspects of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Kazakhstan, issues on the agenda of the next summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, as well as certain international and regional topics were discussed.
The President of the Republic of Tajikistan, respected Emomali Rahmon, expressed gratitude for the hospitality and the opportunity for the meeting.
At the meeting, issues of developing cooperation relations in the fields of trade and economics, agriculture, energy, air transport and security were discussed.
The parties expressed their readiness to continue consultations on international and regional issues.
Another topic of the meeting was the holding of the next meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation in the city of Dushanbe.
The progress of work on digitalization and the allocation of grants for the training of Tajik specialists in the field of information technology were also reviewed.
The parties also held a fruitful dialogue on other issues of mutual interest.
