On 20 January 2026, a signing ceremony of loan and grant agreements with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) was held at the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Tajikistan for the implementation of the project “Introduction of Electric Public Transport in the Khatlon Region, Phase II”.
The agreements were signed by the Minister of Finance of the Republic of Tajikistan, Kakhkhorzoda Fayziddin Sattor, and the EBRD Resident Representative in Tajikistan, Holger Wiefel.
It should be noted that the total value of the agreements amounts to 10.0 million euros, of which 6.4 million euros is a loan and 3.6 million euros is a grant.
The main objective of the project is the procurement of electric buses and equipment, the construction of parking facilities, and the improvement of public transport service quality in the Khatlon region.
