The Minister of Finance of the Republic of Tajikistan, Fayziddin Kakhkhorzoda, met with Ludger Schuknecht, Vice President and Corporate Secretary of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB).
During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on current investment issues, particularly in the energy sector and other real sectors of the economy, and presented their respective proposals.
It should be noted that on 17 May 2023, the Founder of Peace and National Unity – the Leader of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, during a meeting with the President of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, Jin Liqun, in Beijing, stated that Tajikistan has all the necessary opportunities and resources for cooperation with the AIIB in implementing projects on the deep processing of agricultural products and mineral resources, as well as for further financing the development of “green” infrastructure in the fields of transport, energy, housing and communal services, and urban development.
To advance these initiatives, Vice President Ludger Schuknecht arrived in Tajikistan a few days ago. In order to strengthen cooperation with Tajikistan, he held meetings and discussions with the heads of several ministries and agencies during this visit.
