On 23 August 2025, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Tajikistan between the Minister of Finance, Kakhhordzoda Fayziddin Sattor, and the Director General of the Qatar Fund for Development, Fahad Hamad Al-Sulaiti.
The sides exchanged views on bilateral cooperation, opportunities for its expansion, and the involvement of the Fund in the implementation of new priority public projects.
During the meeting, a signing ceremony of a concessional loan agreement between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Qatar Fund for Development was held in the amount of 50.0 million USD for the implementation of the “Construction of the Rogun Hydropower Plant” project.
The agreement was signed by the Minister of Finance of the Republic of Tajikistan, Kakhhordzoda Fayziddin Sattor, and the Director General of the Qatar Fund for Development, Fahad Hamad Al-Sulaiti.
The objective of the project is to contribute to national energy security and support the development of the Republic of Tajikistan by providing renewable electricity to meet domestic demand and expand domestic and regional electricity generation.
