On 30 June 2023, a signing ceremony of a financing agreement (the project “Educational Environment – the Foundation of Quality Learning”) was held at the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Tajikistan between the Republic of Tajikistan and the International Development Association.
The main objective of the project is to improve the quality of teaching conditions and the learning environment in selected general education schools.
The total cost of the project amounts to 38.1 million Special Drawing Rights, equivalent to 50.0 million US dollars, provided entirely as grant funds.
The project implementation begins in 2023 and is expected to be completed in 2029.
In addition, a financing agreement (Social Protection Modernization and Economic Inclusion Project) was signed between the Republic of Tajikistan and the International Development Association, as well as a grant agreement (Social Protection Modernization and Economic Inclusion Project) between the Republic of Tajikistan and the International Development Association (Multi-Donor Trust Fund of the Global Financing Facility for Women, Children and Adolescents).
The objective of the project is to support the recipient in protecting poor and vulnerable families from shocks, promoting economic inclusion, and improving social safety net systems.
The total cost of the project amounts to 37.5 million US dollars, of which 35.0 million US dollars are provided as a grant from the International Development Association and 2.5 million US dollars as a grant from the Multi-Donor Trust Fund of the Global Financing Facility for Women, Children and Adolescents.
The project implementation begins in 2023 and is scheduled for completion in 2027.
