Dear compatriots!
Today, the citizens of independent Tajikistan proudly and with a sense of gratitude for their national statehood, in an atmosphere of peace and prosperity in the country, are celebrating another important historical date – the 30th anniversary of the adoption of the State Flag.
On this occasion, I sincerely, from the bottom of my heart, congratulate the noble people of Tajikistan.
A few days ago, we, the citizens of independent Tajikistan, solemnly marked one of the important and decisive historical dates – the 30th anniversary of the 16th Session of the Supreme Council, during which, on 24 November 1992, the State Flag was adopted.
In 1994, through a nationwide referendum, the Constitution of independent Tajikistan was adopted, in which the flag of our country, along with other state symbols, was enshrined as a sign of the establishment and stability of Tajik national statehood.
For thirty years now, this sacred national symbol has been flying in all corners of the country, and alongside the national anthem, the State Flag is raised and displayed in honour of the achievements and victories of distinguished representatives of the nation in various countries around the world.
The State Flag, as the most sacred symbol of our statehood, with its three colours, expresses the mentality, history, and essence of the Tajik state, and is a clear confirmation that we have a free and independent homeland.
The adoption of the State Flag during a very difficult period in the history of our newly independent state gave the people new strength and hope, united them, and enabled them under the State Flag to restore constitutional order and ensure peace and stability in the country.
The State Flag is a symbol with a unifying force that awakens national pride and a deep sense of love for the homeland in the heart of every citizen.
Therefore, protecting and honouring the flag represents a manifestation of high national spirit and patriotism.
I would like to note with satisfaction that the people of Tajikistan, especially teenagers and youth, have always shown respect for the State Flag since its adoption and consider it one of the national sacred symbols and a sign of peaceful and prosperous life.
Indeed, the State Flag of independent Tajikistan is a source of pride and a guiding symbol for every citizen with national consciousness and patriotic spirit. Every year, the day of its adoption is celebrated with immense pride and respect for this symbol of our independent state.
The adoption of the State Flag has enabled us to take a new look at the meaning and essence of life in our state and society, to draw inspiration from the history of our people, and to move confidently toward a bright future for our state and nation.
Celebrating State Flag Day is a tribute to the outstanding merits of the great sons of our people and a bow of respect to their bright and eternal memory – Cyrus the Great, Ismoil Somoni, Shirak, Devashtich, Spitamen, Muqanna, Temurmalik, Rudaki, Firdawsi, and hundreds of thousands of other glorious figures who, throughout the millennia-long history of our nation, selflessly fought for the honour and dignity of the nation, the protection of the ancestral land, language, culture, customs, and traditions of our ancient people, thanks to which they have reached our time.
Therefore, respect for the State Flag as one of the sacred symbols of our independent homeland is considered a civic and human duty of every member of our society, especially the youth. It is necessary to instill from an early age a sense of pride in it in every individual and to engrave it in the hearts of every resident of the country.
In today’s complex and rapidly changing world, and in the fast-moving process of globalization, issues of protecting independence and freedom, peace and stability, national sacred values, traditions, customs, and rituals are becoming increasingly important.
Therefore, we, the citizens of Tajikistan, are obliged to unite even more under the State Flag, to work for the protection of our beloved homeland’s borders, to strengthen our young statehood, to remain politically vigilant, to defend national and state interests, to value peace and stability, to strengthen national unity, and to further enhance the prestige of our beloved Tajikistan on the international stage.
May the State Flag, as a symbol of our pride, honour, and national unity, forever fly in an atmosphere of peace and stability in our country and inspire creative work for the development of our beloved homeland.
Once again, I sincerely congratulate the noble people of Tajikistan on State Flag Day and wish happiness and prosperity to every family and all citizens of the country, and peace, stability, and sustainable development to our independent and free state.
Happy State Flag Day, dear compatriots!
