With the utmost respect and sincere devotion, I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to all of you, dear colleagues, and, through you, to all the honourable people of our country on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan.
Independence is the greatest blessing and the most precious value for every state and nation. It is a fundamental factor for development and progress, as well as a foundation for strengthening a country’s presence on the global stage and advancing and protecting national and state interests.
It is the highest and most valuable achievement of our nation, the foundation of the state’s existence, a symbol of statehood and patriotism, and a manifestation of the identity and freedom, pride and dignity of the sovereign and independent Tajik nation.
Independence represents the triumph of the wisdom and thought of the ancient and venerable Tajik nation, the beginning of a new stage of national statehood, a factor in the unity and solidarity of our dedicated and patriotic people, an essential means of preserving our national identity and heritage, and, above all, a clear symbol of the continued existence of our nation.
Thanks to the wise policy of the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, during the period of independence we have had the opportunity to proudly present our people and our country to the world.
Over the course of more than 35 years, our people have succeeded in reviving their finest national values, elevating national self-awareness and consciousness, and not only restoring their unique cultural heritage, but also adapting it to the requirements of modern statehood and the realities of the contemporary world, while presenting it to the international community.
It is precisely through the initiatives and tireless efforts of the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation that the country's key strategic development priorities have been identified and implemented, including achieving energy independence, overcoming the country's communication and transport isolation, ensuring food security, and accelerating industrialization. As a result, Tajikistan has become one of the progressive and proactive countries and has gained recognition from countries around the world.
The adoption by the international community and the United Nations General Assembly of a number of international initiatives put forward by Tajikistan has further enhanced the country's reputation and standing among the nations of the world.
Today, thanks to independence, the people of the world know a nation called the Tajiks and a country called Tajikistan, which holds a distinctive position on the international stage.
For us, Independence is a prominent symbol of the stability of the state, the continuity and identity of the nation, a symbol of heritage and national identity, our historical ideals and aspirations, an international passport, and a source of honour and dignity that connects the independent Republic of Tajikistan with the civilized world.
State Independence is a sacred celebration for every nation, and safeguarding and strengthening its foundations is the foremost duty of every honourable and patriotic citizen of the country.
In today's complex and challenging world, only a nation that possesses genuine independence within its free and sovereign state can earn recognition, dignity and respect.
From the very first days of state independence, the honourable and heroic Tajik people have worked to restore and strengthen the foundations of the state and modern statehood, ensure the security and peace of society, and maintain political and economic stability. For the prosperity of the Motherland, they embarked on a path of constructive development, including the construction of power plants, tunnels, enterprises and institutions, as well as highways meeting international standards. As a result, many of our challenges have now been resolved, and our hardworking people are committed to addressing even greater development and nation-building objectives.
We should take pride in this great nation and strive with dedication and determination to further enhance its reputation and standing.
Therefore, on this auspicious occasion, I would like to express the following wishes:
May the sacred celebration of Independence bring health, happiness, prosperity, peaceful lives, success and new opportunities to every free-spirited and patriotic citizen of our country!
May our national Independence remain as steadfast as the majestic peaks of our country and endure forever.
