In pursuit of one of the country’s strategic objectives — ensuring food security for the population — the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan continues to take the necessary measures and construct modern year-round greenhouses in remote cities and districts across the country.
Following the remote commissioning of a modern year-round greenhouse in Shughnon District of GBAO by the Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, President of the country, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, representatives of various professions, a delegation of guests, and other officials visited the facility and highly commended it.
It should be noted that, with the support of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, the State Institution “Agriculture Entrepreneurship Development”, under the “Strengthening Resilience of the Agriculture Sector Project”, constructed a modern year-round greenhouse in Shughnon District of GBAO this year. The greenhouse will contribute to providing the population with fresh vegetables throughout the year.
The greenhouse has been constructed on an area of 0.32 hectares based on a modern design. Currently, the cultivation of agricultural crops, including tomatoes, cucumbers, bell peppers, and eggplants, has been established there.
The objective of constructing such modern year-round greenhouses is to select and adapt agricultural crops to local climatic conditions, introduce modern technologies and practices, make rational use of land, and provide the population with locally produced food throughout the year to the greatest extent possible.
