Today, the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan is making continuous efforts to improve public health and ensure the protection and well-being of the population, while paying special attention to food security and healthy nutrition. In addition, a number of state programs adopted by the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan are being implemented gradually across the country.
For the implementation of the Law of the Republic of Tajikistan “On Providing the Population with Fortified Food Products,” it has been established that the law regulates relations aimed at preventing micronutrient deficiencies and related diseases through the fortification of food products.
In this regard, the State Institution “Agriculture Entrepreneurship Development,” within the framework of Component 3.4 of the project “Strengthening Resilience of the Agriculture Sector Project,” has been organizing nationwide training events on the topic “Food Fortification for Public Health Protection” in stages to support the implementation of the above-mentioned law.
Accordingly, on 15 May 2026, the institution, jointly with the Public Organization “Media Consultation,” organized a training event on the topic “Food Fortification for Public Health Protection” at the building of the Tajikstandard Agency, with the participation of relevant ministries and agencies.
The event was opened by Malohat Rustamzoda, Deputy Director of the Agency for Standardization, Metrology, Certification and Trade Inspection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, who welcomed the guests. She then delivered remarks on the activities carried out in the field of food fortification.
According to the program agenda, Boymurod Kurbonzoda — Deputy Director of the State Institution “Agriculture Entrepreneurship Development,” Inomjon Haknazarov — Director of the State Institution “Republican Nutrition Center,” Suhrob Ashurov — Head of the Department for Technical Regulation and Standardization, Behruz Valiev — Chairman of the State Subsidiary Enterprise “Revolving Fund for Food Fortification Products of the Republic of Tajikistan,” and other officials delivered informative presentations on the effectiveness of food fortification and related issues.
The organization of such events nationwide contributes to raising public awareness about the importance of healthy nutrition, preventing malnutrition, and especially improving the overall health condition of society.
To ensure the implementation of the food fortification process and, in this context, to fulfill the requirements of the Law of the Republic of Tajikistan “On Providing the Population with Fortified Food Products,” the institution, together with relevant authorities, continuously undertakes the necessary measures.
