The national flag of independent Tajikistan is raised in accordance with the policy pursued by the state and Government of Tajikistan under the leadership of the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, esteemed Emomali Rahmon, as a symbol of complete national independence. During the independence period, the Republic of Tajikistan flag was presented internationally and hung in the buildings of the United Nations and other influential international and regional organizations and institutions, alongside the flags of other countries, proclaiming the independence of Tajikistan.
The flag is a symbol of peaceful life, happiness and prosperity, hope for bright future and is worthy to be respected by every citizen with self-awareness and self-knowledge.
For the nation, the flag is a star, and for the army, it is power. The flag's appearance resembles a soaring bird of happiness and good fortune.
