It is with the utmost respect and profound dedication that I extend my heartfelt congratulations to all employees of the Institution and to the people of the country on the occasion of the State Language Day of the Republic of Tajikistan.
Language is the essence of every nation and an important pillar of every state. Throughout history, it has served as a source of national independence and a crucial factor in the formation and development of nations.
The history of humanity demonstrates that peoples, nations and states remain strong and resilient when they possess and preserve their own national language. In other words, the language of every nation is regarded as one of the most important conditions for its continuity and survival.
The Tajik language has played a significant role in the formation and development of national culture. Through the invaluable literary heritage of the great representatives of the Tajik nation, including Abuabdullo Rudaki, Abulqosim Ferdowsi, Nasir Khusraw, Omar Khayyam, Mawlana Jalaluddin Balkhi, Saadi Shirazi, Hafiz Shirazi, Kamol Khujandi, Abdurahmon Jami and other great figures of literature and culture, it has preserved its prominent place in the history of human civilization.
Today, the Tajik language is not only a means of communication for us, but also a symbol of national identity, a factor in strengthening social unity, an inseparable link between generations, and one of the fundamental pillars of national statehood.
The mother tongue of every nation is the source and foundation of its survival, while the strongest evidence of the vitality of any nation is the preservation and continued existence of its mother tongue. Our Tajik language has survived the turbulent and challenging course of history, including the hardships and invasions of foreign forces, and has become a source of the continuity and survival of our nation. As speakers of this language, we take pride in it and will continue our efforts to preserve it in its purity, clarity and eloquence.
It is a matter of great pride for every native speaker that today, in our beloved country, our mother tongue receives comprehensive care and support from the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, particularly from the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation. Indeed, caring for and supporting the mother tongue means, above all, supporting one’s own people and nation. It is through the initiative of the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, that our mother tongue, the Tajik language, is heard from the platforms of influential international organizations, and its standing and recognition on the international stage are gradually increasing.
The celebration of Language Day is one of the cherished achievements of the State Independence of Tajikistan. Like other ancient national traditions of our people, it is celebrated every year with its distinctive solemnity.
State independence has not only contributed to preserving the authenticity of the pure Tajik language, but has also created the necessary conditions for its development and advancement, wider use, and enhanced status. In particular, the service, dedication and efforts of the Leader of the Nation, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, in preserving the state language in its purity and promoting its development are unparalleled.
In the context of rapid advances in information technology and expanding global relations, the protection of the national language is becoming increasingly important. We must strive to ensure that the Tajik language, alongside other modern languages, maintains its strength and vitality and continues to expand its presence in the scientific, information, technological and cultural spheres.
Each of us must be a worthy custodian of this national treasure, which reflects our destiny, is a source of our pride and dignity, and serves as a foundation for the enduring unity of our nation. We must be worthy stewards, proud custodians, honourable heirs and vigilant defenders of our mother tongue — the language of the people of Tajikistan, a nation with an ancient history and a rich civilizational heritage.
Let us always safeguard it as the apple of our eye and continuously strive to preserve its purity and integrity.
Therefore, alongside learning various foreign languages, each of us must ensure that we never forget our beautiful and eloquent Tajik language. We should conduct our communication and official affairs in the state language (Tajik) and continuously contribute to its preservation and protection. Throughout history, many Tajik scholars and thinkers endured great hardship and even sacrificed their lives in their efforts to preserve and strengthen this rich and precious language.
Taking this joyful and meaningful occasion, I once again sincerely congratulate all of you, our esteemed employees, and, through you, all the honourable people of our country on the State Language Day. I wish you good health and dignity, fruitful work and noble achievements, happiness and prosperity, and outstanding success in your future endeavours.
May the Tajik language, as the language of statehood, science and education, culture and literature, and a source of our national pride, remain strong, enduring and eternal!
Happy State Language Day, dear compatriots!
