Horticulture and viticulture are among the key agricultural sectors contributing to the provision of essential food products for the population. The climate of Tajikistan is highly favorable for the cultivation of fruit orchards, which serve as a source of high-quality fruits, raw materials for domestic industries, and export products.
Within the framework of the Strengthening Resilience of the Agriculture Sector Project, the State Institution “Agriculture Entrepreneurship Development” continues to monitor the growth and development of rare ornamental tree saplings and rootstocks in 13 nurseries operated by the State Unitary Enterprise “Tojikniholparvar” under the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Tajikistan.
As part of the latest monitoring mission, specialists of the Institution, together with managers of nurseries located in the districts of Yovon, A. Jomi, Kushoniyon, and Mir Sayyid Ali Hamadoni, inspected ongoing agronomic activities, including the growth performance of saplings, soil loosening around the plants, fertilization, plant protection measures, and other inter-row cultivation practices. The specialists also provided responsible staff with practical scientific recommendations aimed at further improving the cultivation and management of young plants and rootstocks.
