The State Institution “Agriculture Entrepreneurship Development”, within the framework of the “Strengthening Resilience of the Agriculture Sector Project,” has been consistently undertaking the necessary measures to improve locust control interventions and, since 2023, has been providing continuous support to strengthen the material and technical capacity of the State Institution “Locust Control Expedition.”
On 23 April of the current year, within the framework of the project “Strengthening Resilience of the Agriculture Sector Project,” the State Institution “Agriculture Entrepreneurship Development” procured 10,000 liters of pesticides, which were officially delivered to the State Institution “Locust Control Expedition” in the presence of the commission members to further improve locust control activities.
It should be noted that in previous years, with the support of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, the State Institution “Agriculture Entrepreneurship Development”, under this project, had already provided a range of modern machinery and equipment to support the State Institution “Locust Control Expedition.” This included 7 vehicles, 6 MTZ tractors, 17 sprayers, 600 handheld sprayers, 830 sets of protective clothing, 55,000 liters of pesticides, as well as a full set of office equipment (computers, printers, laptops, tablets, and furniture).
In addition, 3 spraying drones and 2 monitoring drones were supplied, which significantly facilitated the work of sector specialists.
