On the second day of its working visit, November 19, 2025, the World Bank Mission delegation inspected the construction of the agrologistic center and the work progress in the Khatlon region Bokhtar district.
Besides, a working meeting was held with the site engineers. During the meeting, the commission representatives noted that this facility must be built and commissioned according to the international standards, within the established timeframe and by a modern design.
It is worth noting that, with the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan support, the State Institution "Agriculture Entrepreneurship Development" will build five agrologistic centers in the Republic of Tajikistan as part of the " Strengthening Resilience of the Agriculture Sector Project”. This will increase the supply of agricultural products, their processing, prevention of crop losses, storage and packaging for export.
The agrologistic center will be built as part of the "Strengthening Resilience of the Agriculture Sector Project" and will have the capacity to process, package and store over 1,200 tons of agricultural products using a new modern design and making life easier for farmers.
Construction of this large facility is planned to cover an area of two hectares, and work is in full swing.
According to the design, the facility will consist of six separate cold storage chambers, each with a capacity of 200 tons of agriculture production, a large receiving hall, a room for sorting, packaging and labeling, as well as a separate laboratory for determining product composition, and other work areas according to the global requirements. The construction is scheduled to be completed in 2026.
In the afternoon, the World Bank Mission delegation visited the “Umarali” farm in the A. Jami district, where farmers this year prepared a one-hectare plot for combined rice cultivation and fish farming. The head of the “Umarali” farm and fish farming scientists warmly welcomed the guests and informed them that this year, with the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan support, the State Institution “Agriculture Entrepreneurship Development”, within the framework of the "Strengthening Resilience of the Agriculture Sector Project”, launched a program for combined rice cultivation and fish farming to ensure food security nationwide.
Specialists, together with scientists, studied the country rice-growing regions and selected nine rice-growing towns and districts, including 20 rice-growing farms, as pilot sites for combined rice cultivation and fish farming.
According to the plan, delivery of fry to rice farms across the country was timely, with a standard rate of 3,000 fry per hectare, enabling the farmers to obtain 60,000 fry per 20 hectares.
During the rice harvest, specialists and farmers harvested and sold up to 6 tons of rice and 900 to 1,200 kg of fish per hectare.
The farmers expressed their deep gratitude to the World Bank Mission delegation and the State Institution “Agriculture Entrepreneurship Development” for their support.
In the end, the World Bank Mission delegation noted the warm welcome and successes of the farms and expressed gratitude for the farmers' significant achievements the first year.
