In particular, he emphasized that today we are paying tribute to one of the most sacred national values – the state language of the Republic of Tajikistan, and celebrating the Day of the State Language with great solemnity.
It is well known that language is one of the most important pillars of a nation’s existence, a factor in strengthening national self-awareness, and a fundamental means of preserving the history and culture of the people.
The legislation of the Republic of Tajikistan identifies the protection and development of the state language as one of the important areas of state policy.
Today, thanks to the wise and culture-oriented policy of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, the Tajik language is developing and improving as one of the important pillars of statehood. The Head of State considers language to be a guarantor of the nation’s existence and has implemented a number of timely and important initiatives aimed at strengthening the status of this supreme national value.
In particular, during the period of independence, important legal and institutional foundations have been established to strengthen the status of the Tajik language as the state language.
The adoption of the Law of the Republic of Tajikistan “On the State Language of the Republic of Tajikistan” in a new edition in 2009 was one of the major steps in this direction. The constant attention of the Leader of the Nation, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, to issues related to language, history, culture and national self-awareness contributes to the development of language policy and the strengthening of the status of the state language in society.
During this period, as a truly national policy of respect for the Tajik language has been put into practice under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, the role of the state language and its use in all spheres, particularly from the platforms of prestigious international organizations, has increased significantly.
The Head of State has represented our language at the international level through global initiatives and proposals, contributing to its recognition as a language of peace, stability and the improvement of people’s lives around the world.
Today, the Tajik language, as the state language of independent Tajikistan, is heard from the highest international platforms, including those of prestigious international organizations. Thanks to the far-sighted and forward-looking policy of the Leader of the Nation and culture-oriented leader of the Tajiks, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, in the modern era the international community recognizes and respects our nation as the Tajik people, our country as Tajikistan, and our language as the Tajik language.
