Today, Ghairat Azizzoda, Head of the Tajikistan-Azerbaijan Inter-Parliamentary Friendship and Cooperation Group, met with Sadig Khagberdi oghlu Gurbanov, Chairman of the Committee on Natural Resources, Power Engineering, and Ecology of the National Assembly of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and his accompanying delegation.
It was pointed out that since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1992, the friendly relations between Tajikistan and Azerbaijan have steadily developed, strengthened, and been elevated from a standard level to a strategic partnership. All these achievements are the result of the sincere friendship and political will of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan – Leader of the Nation, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, and the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, His Excellency Ilham Haydar oghlu Aliyev.
It is gratifying that the relations between our countries are underpinned by more than 94 international agreements at the interstate, intergovernmental, and interagency levels, which demonstrates the effectiveness of the diplomatic efforts of both sides.
The Majlisi Namoyandagon will further strive to strengthen the partnership between our countries and contribute to bilateral and multilateral relations. The exchange of experience between the deputies of both countries will serve the interests of both sides and promote the development of legislative activity," Ghairat Azizzoda concluded.
