The Deputy Chairman of the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, Mavsuma Muini, met with the delegation of the Friendship Group of the Senate of the French Republic for cooperation with Central Asian countries, led by Mr. Hervé Maurey.
The meeting was attended by deputies of the Tajikistan-France inter-parliamentary friendship and cooperation group and the Ambassador of the French Republic to the Republic of Tajikistan, Ms. Elsa Pignol.
The parties expressed satisfaction with the current level and content of cooperation, which is based on shared civilizational values, historical ties, and mutual respect.
It was emphasized that thanks to the political will and consistent efforts of the leaders of the two states — the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, and the President of the French Republic, Emmanuel Macron — bilateral relations have reached a qualitatively new stage in recent years.
Special importance was attached to the activities of inter-parliamentary friendship and cooperation groups, and issues of expanding cooperation in the areas of legislative experience exchange, sustainable development, environmental protection, digitalization, and the strengthening of democratic institutions were discussed. The parties expressed their readiness to coordinate positions within the framework of international inter-parliamentary organizations, including the Inter-Parliamentary Union and the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, and to continue constructive dialogue and hold the next meeting in Paris during the visit of the parliamentary delegation of Tajikistan.
Particular attention was paid to the expansion of cooperation in priority sectors, including industry, energy, infrastructure development, metallurgy, healthcare, culture, science, and education.
