On January 9, 2026, a political and educational meeting dedicated to the study and explanation of the Address of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, to the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan dated December 16, 2025, was held at the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan. The event was attended by the Deputy Chairman of the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, Mavsumа Muini, and a Deputy of the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, Zarafо Qiyomzoda, who delivered speeches.
Mavsumа Muini highlighted the significance of the Leader of the Nation’s Address in the development of statehood, strengthening of legislation, and implementation of strategic goals. She emphasized the important role of legislative bodies and society in fulfilling instructions related to environmental protection and in enhancing political and environmental awareness.
It was noted that this year’s Address began with a review of the most important events of 2025. The President of the country first referred to the elections of deputies to the Majlisi Namoyandagon, local councils of people’s deputies, and members of the Majlisi Milli of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan; the signing of the Treaty between the Republics of Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan on the junction point of the state borders of the three countries; and the Khujand Declaration on Eternal Friendship signed by the heads of state. He also noted the complete resolution of border issues between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Kyrgyzstan, describing these as major political and historical events.
It was also emphasized that, at the initiative of Tajikistan, the United Nations adopted special resolutions entitled “The Role of Artificial Intelligence in Creating New Opportunities for Sustainable Development in Central Asia” and “Preservation of Glaciers and the Cryosphere, Especially in Mountain Regions.” Other important events of the year included the declaration of 2027 as the “International Year of Legal Awareness,” the inclusion of the cultural heritage monuments of Ancient Khuttal in the UNESCO World Heritage List, and the hosting of the first High-Level International Conference on Glacier Protection in the capital of the country.
Deputy of the Majlisi Namoyandagon Z. Qiyomzoda described the Address of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan as an important political and programmatic document and provided information to the participants on the priority directions of state policy, including issues of sustainable development and environmental protection.
