At the meeting of the Executive Committee of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea (IFAS), a statement by the Chairman of the Committee for Environmental Protection of Tajikistan, Sheralizoda Bahodur, was presented. The key message was a call to move from diplomatic agreements to decisive action.
For our country, glacier melting and water scarcity are not distant threats but everyday realities. The statement emphasized that cooperation between the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and UNEP should serve as a “bridge” to translate global experience into concrete projects - from combating plastic pollution to protecting fragile mountain ecosystems.
Tajikistan reaffirmed its readiness to actively implement the “Green Economy Strategy” and to join forces with international partners in order to turn shared climate challenges into a “shared future of prosperity and resilience.”
