In order to explain the main provisions of the latest Address of the Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, and to convey its content to the staff of the Main Department of Environmental Protection of the Sughd Region, as well as the United Nations General Assembly resolution “On the Protection of Glaciers and the Cryosphere, Especially in Mountain Regions,” a training seminar was held in the conference hall of the Main Department.
The seminar, held under the title “The Address — a Guarantee of a Decent Life for the People,” was attended by and featured speeches from representatives of the Central and Regional Executive Committees of the People’s Democratic Party of Tajikistan, as well as a representative of the State Educational Institution “Khujand State University named after Academician B. Gafurov.”
During the event, key issues reflected in the Address of the Leader of the Nation were discussed, including economic development, support for entrepreneurship, strengthening peace and national unity, increasing civic responsibility, Tajikistan’s international initiatives, as well as matters related to glacier protection.
Information was also presented on the proclamation, at the initiative of Tajikistan, of 2025–2034 as the “Decade of Cryosphere Sciences,” and on the essence of the United Nations General Assembly environmental resolution “On the Protection of Glaciers and the Cryosphere, Especially in Mountain Regions.”
At the conclusion of the event, lecturer Turdiev T. M. donated his new book dedicated to the glaciers of Tajikistan to the library of the Main Department.
