In order to summarize the activities of the State Interagency Commission on Environmental Awareness of the Population in the region, as well as similar commissions in cities and districts, a final meeting was held in the main hall of the Main Department for Environmental Protection of the region.
The meeting was chaired by the Deputy Chairman of Sughd Region and Chairman of the Commission, F. Qosimi, with the participation of Tilloi G., Head of the Center for Environmental Information, Outreach and Computer Programming of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan; S. Kholzoda, Head of the Main Department for Environmental Protection of the region; members of the regional commission structures; Deputy Chairpersons of cities and districts serving as heads of local commissions; heads of departments and managers of environmental protection units in cities and districts.
According to the agenda, a detailed report was presented by H. Saidov, Chief Specialist of the Main Department for Environmental Protection of the region.
During the discussion of the agenda items, members of the regional commission, representatives of education authorities, the Department of Energy and Industry of the regional executive authority, the Department for Women and Family Affairs, the State Forestry Institution, the Television and Radio Administration, as well as several chairpersons of regional interagency commissions in cities and districts were questioned. Following the discussion, specific instructions were issued by the Deputy Chairman of the region, F. Qosimi.
In addition, during the meeting, the Committee representative Tilloi G. expressed views regarding the indefinite nature of the commission’s mandate, the need to develop a new Program for 2026–2030, and the importance of preventing shortcomings in its future implementation.
For his part, the Head of the Main Department, S. Kh. Kholzoda, spoke about the measures being taken to protect the environment and ensure environmental safety of the population, particularly in raising the level of environmental awareness. He also called for further organization of joint activities between the structural units of the Main Department, Deputy Chairpersons of cities and districts, and sector coordinators in the implementation of landscaping and greening activities.
At the conclusion of the meeting of the State Interagency Commission on Environmental Awareness of the Population in the region, a relevant decision was adopted.
