On December 5, 2025, in celebration of the International Volunteer Day, a ceremonial event entitled “Volunteers’ Honorable Service for the Prosperity of Tajikistan” was held in the hall of the Committee on Youth and Sports under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, with the participation of representatives of the leadership of a number of ministries and state agencies. At the event, Isfandiyor Shukurzoda, First Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, delivered a congratulatory address.
In his speech, he emphasized that the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Committee for Environmental Protection consider the volunteer movement to be one of the most important components of the state environmental policy. At the initiative of the Committee’s leadership, an Eco-Volunteers Club was established in 2022; in order to ensure its development and support, training programs are regularly conducted, and members of the Eco-Volunteers Club participate in events at the national and international levels.
Through their initiatives, including the environmental campaigns “Clean Area,” “Clean Shoreline,” tree-planting and greening campaigns, as well as awareness-raising activities on waste reduction and increasing tree planting, eco-volunteers provide society with a practical example of care for nature.
At the same time, I. Shukurzoda noted that in October of the current year, with the aim of further expanding improvement and construction activities and supporting the creative and constructive initiatives of young people, the “Environmental Volunteers” Club was established under the Chairman of the city of Dushanbe, based on his decision.
It is noteworthy that the establishment of the club was carried out in line with the continuous guidance of the Leader of the Nation, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, and provides a foundation for educating the younger generation of the country in the spirit of environmental awareness.
