On July 21, 2026, a technical seminar-meeting was held in the city of Rogun within the framework of awareness-raising and preventive activities on the topic: “Compliance with Occupational Safety Requirements During the Construction of Hydraulic Structures, Control over the Handling of Explosive Materials, Lifting Facilities, Pressure Vessels and Amusement Facilities, as well as Registration of Hazardous Production Facilities at the Open Joint Stock Company ‘Rogun Hydropower Plant’.”
The seminar was organized as part of awareness-raising and preventive measures aimed at improving compliance with industrial safety requirements, enhancing the implementation of regulatory legal acts and technical documentation, as well as preventing accidents and industrial incidents during the construction process and operation of facilities of the OJSC “Rogun Hydropower Plant”.
The seminar was attended by Deputy Head of the State Supervision Service for Safe Work in Industry and Mining under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan Olimsho Aslonzoda, representatives of the Service, officials of the OJSC “Rogun Hydropower Plant”, specialists in industrial safety, labor protection and occupational safety, as well as managers and representatives of relevant organizations and enterprises.
During the seminar, important issues related to ensuring industrial safety in the construction of hydraulic structures, control over the handling of industrial explosives, operation of lifting facilities, cranes, elevators and pressure vessels, as well as registration of hazardous production facilities in the State Register were discussed.
In particular, participants presented information on industrial accidents registered during the first half of 2026 and measures to prevent accidents at the construction facilities of the Rogun Hydropower Plant.
In addition, the agenda of the seminar included discussions on compliance with industrial safety requirements in the chemical and metallurgical sectors, industrial safety and technical documentation at mining enterprises, safety requirements during the operation of lifting facilities and pressure vessels, as well as the storage, transportation and use of industrial explosives.
During the seminar, it was emphasized that the Rogun Hydropower Plant, as one of the country's strategic facilities, plays an important role in ensuring the energy independence of the Republic of Tajikistan, promoting rapid industrialization and supporting sustainable economic development. Therefore, ensuring industrial safety, preventing accidents and incidents, as well as protecting the life and health of employees are among the key responsibilities of supervisory authorities and business entities.
During the discussions, special attention was paid to the need for strict compliance with regulatory legal and technical requirements, strengthening production discipline, improving technical documentation, and increasing the responsibility of enterprise managers and employees.
At the conclusion of the seminar, it was emphasized that ensuring industrial safety is a shared responsibility of supervisory authorities, managers, engineers and production workers, and that strict adherence to safety requirements is of key importance for the stable and reliable operation of the Rogun Hydropower Plant.
