Today, Deputy Chairman of the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan Mavsumа Muini held a meeting with the Chairman of the Senate Commission of the Kingdom of Cambodia on Human Rights, Reception of Complaints and Investigations, H.E. Ngy Chanphal.
It was noted that relations between Tajikistan and the Kingdom of Cambodia are developing within the framework of international organizations. Important milestones in the development of bilateral relations include the meeting of the Leader of the Nation, H.E. Emomali Rahmon, on the sidelines of the Fifth Summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA) in Dushanbe in 2019, as well as the subsequent meeting with the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia in Nice, France, on the sidelines of the United Nations Ocean Conference in 2025. In order to develop interparliamentary cooperation and exchange experience in the field of lawmaking, the Tajikistan–Cambodia Interparliamentary Friendship Group was established.
“We are interested in further expanding political dialogue, strengthening economic cooperation, and comprehensively developing relations between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Kingdom of Cambodia. In this context, we attach particular importance to strengthening the legal framework, developing interparliamentary ties, improving human resources, as well as establishing contacts in areas of mutual interest. We consider the Asian Parliamentary Assembly an appropriate platform for developing interparliamentary ties, expanding cooperation between relevant committees, and exchanging experience in legislative activities. Expressing satisfaction with the activities of the Kingdom of Cambodia within the framework of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly, we emphasize the readiness of the Republic of Tajikistan to cooperate with the Kingdom of Cambodia in this direction,” Mavsumа Muini added.
