Today, a meeting of the Friendship Group of the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan with a delegation of the People’s Republic of China was held. The delegation arrived in Dushanbe to participate in the meeting of the Standing Committee of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly on Social and Cultural Affairs.
It was emphasized that the interstate relations between the Republic of Tajikistan and the People’s Republic of China are based on trust, mutual respect and equality. Thanks to the political will of the leaders of the two countries, these relations are steadily developing and are oriented towards the future.
The friendly relations between the President of the Republic of Tajikistan – Leader of the Nation, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, and the Chairman of the People’s Republic of China, Mr. Xi Jinping, have provided a solid foundation for the further development of bilateral relations.
It was emphasized that interparliamentary dialogue, the activities of friendship groups, cooperation between relevant committees, the exchange of legislative experience, as well as mutual visits by parliamentarians of the two countries can give new impetus to bilateral relations.
Interparliamentary cooperation should be aimed at strengthening mutual understanding and trust, expanding ties between the two countries, and facilitating the implementation of agreements reached at the highest level.
The purpose of today’s meeting is to review the state of bilateral relations within the framework of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly and identify further ways to strengthen interparliamentary cooperation.
We consider the Asian Parliamentary Assembly an important platform for developing interparliamentary dialogue, expanding cooperation between relevant committees and exchanging legislative experience.
It was pointed out that Tajikistan welcomes the active participation of the People’s Republic of China in the activities of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly and is ready to continue constructive cooperation with China within the framework of this important parliamentary structure and other international organizations.
Confidence was expressed that the Friendship Group and interparliamentary cooperation will play an increasingly constructive and positive role in developing interparliamentary exchanges, enhancing mutual understanding and strengthening friendship between the peoples of Tajikistan and China.
