Today, Chairman of the Committee on Agrarian Issues, Water and Land Resources of the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan Rustam Latifzoda met with a delegation of the Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee of the National People's Congress of China.
During the meeting, it was noted that agricultural development is directly linked to food security, employment, and the well-being of rural residents.
For Tajikistan, the development of agriculture is an important component of national development.
“We are interested in expanding cooperation with China in such areas as modern agricultural technologies, the efficient use of water and land resources, irrigation, seed production, agricultural processing, and the training of specialists,” said Rustam Latifzoda.
China’s experience in developing modern agro-industrial complexes and introducing digital technologies is of particular interest to us.
Today, digitalization and artificial intelligence are also opening up new opportunities for the agricultural sector. We must strive to ensure that modern technologies bring tangible benefits to people – farmers, producers, and rural residents.
Tajikistan has favorable conditions for the development of horticulture, viticulture, and the production of high-quality agricultural products.
In this context, the Program of Trade and Economic Cooperation between the Governments of Tajikistan and China until 2030, signed in June 2025, is of great importance.
We hope that its implementation will contribute to the development of intensive horticulture, improvement of product quality, and expansion of Tajikistan’s export opportunities.
It is necessary to expand exchanges between specialists, strengthen cooperation between educational and scientific institutions in the agricultural sector, and create opportunities for internships and the exchange of practical experience.
We are confident that mutual trust, respect, and sincere friendship between our peoples will provide a strong foundation for the further development of relations between Tajikistan and China.
It was emphasized that the parliaments of the two countries will continue to make a worthy contribution to strengthening the strategic partnership between Tajikistan and China.
