On August 27, 2026, Khairiddinzoda Azizbek, a deputy of the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, held a meeting with the staff of the Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and medical workers of Farkhor District.
During the meeting, it was noted that the independence and state sovereignty of the Republic of Tajikistan, achieved through centuries of struggle, selfless labor, dedication, and the consistent efforts of its freedom-loving people, constitute an invaluable achievement. State independence has enabled the Tajik people to determine their own destiny and has allowed Tajikistan to become part of the broader historical development of humankind as a democratic state.
Enhancing the efficiency, quality, and accessibility of medical and sanitary services for the population is a priority under the National Development Strategy of the Republic of Tajikistan for the Period up to 2030 and the Strategy for the Protection of the Population's Health of the Republic of Tajikistan for the Period up to 2030.
In 2025 alone, state budget expenditures on healthcare, social insurance, and social protection increased 11.5-fold, while a total of 13.5 billion somoni, or 20.2 percent of the total state budget, has been allocated to these sectors for 2026.
In 2025, a total of 72 innovations were introduced in the healthcare sector, including 14 in diagnostics and 58 in treatment. As a result of effective measures implemented by the state and the Government during the years of independence, official statistics show that the number of hospitals increased from 374 in 1991 to 608 in 2024, while the number of medical facilities providing outpatient and rehabilitative care increased from 865 to 2,963.
In total, more than 1,300 new medical facilities have been built, and nearly 25,000 specialists with higher medical education and 147,000 mid-level medical personnel have been trained.
Ensuring public security, political stability, peace and national unity, as well as the rule of law, serves as a guarantee of sustainable economic and social development and improved living standards and quality of life for the country's population.
It is precisely peace and stability, security and public order, as well as the rule of law, that have enabled us to ensure dynamic economic, social, cultural, and political development and improve the well-being of the people.
In conclusion, it was emphasized that today we must draw lessons from the recent history of the period of independence and, amid increasingly intense geopolitical competition among the world's major powers, safeguard the unity, stability, and security of our country with the utmost care.
