Today, Faizali Idizoda, Chairman of the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, met with Pak Tok Him, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea.
During the meeting, it was noted that diplomatic relations between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Korea were established in 1992 and, through steady growth, have reached a qualitatively new level today.
It was stated that our country is interested in strengthening mutually beneficial relations with many countries in Southeast Asia, particularly with the Republic of Korea.
It is gratifying that bilateral relations between our countries currently span a wide range of areas, from high-level political dialogue and interparliamentary cooperation to trade, economic, investment, scientific-technical, educational, cultural, and humanitarian cooperation.
"We pay special attention to the development of interparliamentary relations and interparliamentary diplomacy as an important mechanism for international cooperation and strengthening trust between our countries," stressed Faizali Idizoda.
To enhance the effectiveness of its activities and parliamentarism, the Majlisi Namoyandagon has established friendship and interparliamentary cooperation groups with 69 countries across the globe, including the Republic of Korea.
The activities of these friendship groups and interparliamentary cooperation were deemed highly important, serving as an effective factor in strengthening mutual understanding, exchanging opinions and legislative practices, expanding ties between lawmakers, and developing constructive dialogue between the legislative bodies of our countries.
It was noted with satisfaction that the volume of bilateral trade between our countries reached 196.1 million US dollars in 2025.
It was noted that today, more than 25 enterprises with the participation of Korean capital are operating successfully in Tajikistan, and the total volume of direct investment from the Republic of Korea exceeds 100 million US dollars.
"We advocate for stable cooperation in many areas of bilateral relations, the establishment of the necessary international legal framework, and the utilization of existing opportunities in the interests of our peoples. Therefore, we propose taking effective steps to address a number of future issues, including the training of highly qualified personnel, exchanging experience in the production of high-tech and agricultural products, and establishing direct air links between our countries.
We believe that today, all the necessary foundations exist for expanding cooperation between the relevant committees of our parliaments and interparliamentary friendship groups, as well as for strengthening the exchange of experience in the field of legislative activity."
"I am confident that your visit to Tajikistan will be one of the important stages in the further development of Tajikistan-Korea relations and will open new horizons for strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation between our parliaments," concluded Faizali Idizoda.
