The Chairman of the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, Faizali Idizoda, today received the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia, Mr. Khalid bin Abdullah Al-Shamrani.
It was emphasized that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was one of the first nations to recognize the State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan on January 11, 1992. Since the official establishment of diplomatic relations, both countries have worked to strengthen bilateral cooperation, with a particular focus on interparliamentary relations.
It was also emphasized that the strong relations of our countries are based on the spiritual and historical ties of two brotherly peoples, as well as the brotherly friendship between the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, and the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the King of Saudi Arabia.
Interparliamentary relations of our country with the Majlis ash-Shura of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia have gained fresh momentum in recent years. In the practice of interparliamentary cooperation, dialogues, mutual visits, and meetings are regularly held, promoting the progress of relations and strengthening the bonds of friendship and brotherhood between our peoples.
The current state of bilateral relations between Tajikistan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia overall demonstrates that, despite ongoing development, mutually beneficial cooperation between the two sides is still at the stage of identifying shared interests.
There are numerous promising, untapped opportunities to effectively advance and concretize relations between the two countries in the fields of economy, trade, investment, as well as in various social sectors.
In our view, to further shape the interparliamentary relations between the two countries today, it is necessary to expand the activities of the Friendship and Cooperation Group of the Majlisi Namoyandagon and the Majlis ash-Shura of Saudi Arabia, establish dialogues, arrange exchanges of official delegation visits, and exert joint efforts to achieve progress," concluded Faizali Idizoda.
