Today, under the chairmanship of the Chairman of the Ecology Commission of the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, Amirzoda Orif, the regular meeting of the Ecology Commission was held.
Amirzoda Orif noted that a few days ago, Dushanbe hosted a Regional seminar for Eurasian parliaments entitled "Addressing Climate Change and Sustainable Development through Parliamentary Action" as well as the Fourth High-Level International Conference on the International Decade for Action "Water for Sustainable Development, 2018-2028." The President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, took part and delivered a speech at the opening of the international conference. The Head of State, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, noted that with the aim of promoting and strengthening water diplomacy and uniting the efforts of the international community for a sustainable and secure future, we have established the International Award of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan in the field of water. The award is aimed at recognizing outstanding contributions to the development of international cooperation, scientific research, sustainable water policy, and the promotion of effective solutions to global water problems.
The meeting also heard the reports of the Deputy Chairman of the Ecology Commission of the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, Ikromi Fazliddin, as well as Ahmadzoda Dilnoza and Qiyomzoda Zarafo – heads of the working groups on concluding the Republican Competition on the topic: "Glacier Preservation - an Important Factor for Ensuring a Bright Future for Humanity."
It was noted that the competition will be concluded in the first half of June and the winners will be awarded with commemorative gifts.
