Today, Faizali Idizoda, Chairman of the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, addressed the meeting of the Inter-parliamentary Assembly of Member Nations of the Commonwealth of Independent States (IPA CIS) Council, which is being held in Saint Petersburg, Russian Federation.
In his speech, Faizali Idizoda emphasized that participation in the work of the IPA CIS Council is always an important opportunity for our parliamentarians to contribute to strengthening inter-parliamentary cooperation, sustainable development, and mutual understanding among our nations.
"I would like to emphasize that today's meeting holds particular significance," he stated. "It is being held within the framework of the Year of Healthcare in the Commonwealth of Independent States, which infuses our agenda with a profound social and humanitarian substance."
He further noted that choosing this theme as a shared priority across the Commonwealth reflects a collective understanding that human health is a core value and the foundation for the sustainable development of any nation.
“In recent years, our countries have faced serious public health challenges,” Idizoda continued. “One need only recall the COVID-19 pandemic and its long-term social, economic, and humanitarian consequences for our nations. These challenges have demonstrated that the effectiveness of national healthcare systems depends not only on economic resources and the quality of medical services but also on the level of legislative regulation. It is precisely at the legislative level that the legal foundations are established, defining access to medical care, social protection for healthcare workers, the development of preventive medicine, the introduction of innovations, and the provision of equal opportunities for all segments of the population.”
