Today, Aziz Giyozoda, Deputy Chairman of the Majlisi Namoyandagon, received Mr. Stuart Adams, President of the Utah State Senate of the United States of America.
It was noted that diplomatic relations between the Republic of Tajikistan and the United States of America were established on February 14, 1992, and have been steadily developing ever since. To date, 35 cooperation agreements have been signed between the two countries across various sectors, contributing to the advancement of bilateral relations.
Mutually beneficial inter-parliamentary cooperation between Tajikistan and the United States, within the framework of the C5+1 platform, as well as through the inter-parliamentary friendship and cooperation group with the U.S. House of Representatives, was highlighted as particularly important.
Relations with the United States are considered one of the priorities of Tajikistan’s foreign policy. Cooperation between the two countries is being developed in a wide range of areas, including politics, security, economy, energy, education, healthcare, agriculture, humanitarian affairs, and other fields of mutual interest.
We express our satisfaction with the attention of the U.S. Congress and senior leadership to mutually beneficial relations with Tajikistan, including with the Assembly of Representatives, which has increased in recent years.
“We believe that the supreme legislative body, through the adoption of laws and the ratification of international treaties, can contribute to strengthening cooperation and forming the legal foundations of bilateral relations,” said Aziz Giyozoda.
