Today, a virtual meeting took place between the Friendship and Inter-parliamentary Cooperation Group of the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the Majlisi Oli of Tajikistan and the Germany–Central Asia Parliamentary Friendship Group.
Mahmadullo Sheralizoda, Head of the Inter-parliamentary Friendship Group and Chairman of the Committee on Energy, Industry, Construction, and Communication, emphasized that diplomatic relations between Tajikistan and Germany were established on February 28, 1992, and continue to strengthen day by day.
Bilateral relations between the two countries include summits between the Heads of State of Central Asia and the Federal Republic of Germany, annual intergovernmental negotiations and consultations, political dialogues between Ministries of Foreign Affairs, and mutual visits by politicians, parliamentarians, and representatives from the Ministries of Defense and law enforcement agencies. These relations also involve business forums and direct cooperation between scientific and educational institutions.
The legal and contractual framework serves as the foundation for these bilateral relations. To date, 42 bilateral acts have been signed between Tajikistan and Germany, including 31 intergovernmental agreements, 10 inter-agency agreements, and one joint declaration.
Inter-parliamentary cooperation remains a vital and rapidly developing component of modern relations between the two nations.
