Today, the Chairman of the Committee of the Majlisi Namoyandagon on Legislation and Human Rights and Head of the Friendship and Cooperation Group of the House of Representatives of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan with the Grand National Assembly of the Republic of Turkey, Shohmurod Rustam, met with the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey, Mr. Umut Acar.
It was noted that the Republic of Turkey established diplomatic relations with the Republic of Tajikistan on January 29, 1992, and was one of the first countries to officially recognize the state independence of Tajikistan.
Shohmurod Rustam noted that the multifaceted cooperation between Tajikistan and Turkey has been developing steadily for 34 years through the constructive initiatives of the top leadership of our countries: the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, and the President of the Republic of Turkey, Honorable Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
During this period, a solid legal foundation has been established between Tajikistan and Turkey, which includes more than 80 important documents in the fields of politics, economy, trade, investment, education, and culture.
One of the key and central areas of the multifaceted cooperation between Tajikistan and Turkey is inter-parliamentary relations. The Inter-parliamentary Friendship Group has been active and operational since the year 2000.
It is worth mentioning that the positions of Tajikistan and Turkey regarding major international and regional issues are also close; cooperation within the framework of international and regional organizations, such as the UN, the Inter-Parliamentary Union, and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation is carried out with consideration for the mutual interests of the parties and support for each other's initiatives.
The Majlisi Namoyandagon of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan wishes to establish cooperation at a new level of quality and to achieve a sustainable expansion of relations with the Grand National Assembly of the Republic of Turkey.
