Today, a festive event dedicated to the International Navruz celebration was held in the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan. The Chairman of the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, Faizali Idizoda, in his speech noted that Navruz, as an ancient festival of the Tajik people with a history of more than six thousand years, has always preserved language, customs and traditions, as well as culture and history, and today has become one of the most important symbols of the cultural and national identity of the Tajik people.
He sincerely congratulated all distinguished participants on the occasion of the International Navruz, which for our people is a highly blessed celebration associated with purity and renewal, and wished them happiness, prosperity, a peaceful and fruitful life, as well as continued success and well-being.
In the modern world, where globalization processes are rapidly advancing, the issue of preserving national and cultural identity has gained special importance for every state.
One of the important aspects of Navruz that has strengthened Tajikistan’s position in the international arena is its universal human values. In its essence, Navruz is a celebration of peace, friendship, peaceful coexistence, and respect for nature and humanity.
As the Leader of the Nation, Esteemed Emomali Rahmon, noted in his congratulatory message on the occasion of the International Navruz celebration on March 20, 2024: “The essence, wisdom, and nature of the Navruz celebration, as a symbol of honoring humanity, a herald of the victory of warmth over cold and light over darkness, a tradition of the awakening of nature and the revival of all living beings over millennia, has served our people as a factor of unity and consolidation.”
The international recognition of this celebration and Tajikistan’s contribution to its promotion have not only enhanced the country’s prestige on the global stage but have also become an important instrument of Tajikistan’s cultural diplomacy.
The President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Esteemed Emomali Rahmon, in his Address to the Majlisi Oli in December of last year, stated that “Tajiks are one of the cultural and civilization-creating nations of the world. We are proud that our noble ancestors — the Aryans — have bequeathed to humanity language and culture, science and art, rich and diverse humanistic traditions, including Navruz, as well as advanced traditions of statehood, that is, an enduring civilization and culture. We are obliged not only to take pride in the universal heritage of our ancestors but also to preserve it, study it, continue it, and pass it on to future generations as a priceless treasure of identity.”
In this regard, the Head of State, Esteemed Emomali Rahmon, instructed the relevant authorities to establish the Aryan Civilization Center and the International Navruz Center in the beloved capital city of Dushanbe.
It should be noted that the establishment of such national centers is a timely initiative for strengthening national identity and reviving historical memory, and it reinforces the ancient and civilized nature of the Tajik people.
At the same time, these centers play an important role in strengthening national identity, especially among the younger generation, as they provide opportunities for young people to become more familiar with the rich history and valuable traditions of their ancestors.
In addition, this creates an opportunity for Navruz to be presented not only as a calendar celebration but also as a cultural and tourism brand at the international level.
In the domestic policy of Tajikistan, Navruz serves as an important factor in strengthening national unity and raising the spirit of patriotism.
The Leader of the Nation, Esteemed Emomali Rahmon, has repeatedly emphasized that the blessed celebration of Navruz instills in the hearts of both young and old hope and aspirations for life, joy and happiness, and a spirit of peaceful coexistence, guiding people toward friendship, sincerity, and mutual love and devotion.
Therefore, this ancient and blessed celebration should be observed with due dignity as a tradition of our ancestors, as its celebration instills in the consciousness of the younger generation a sense of patriotism, respect for honest labor, and a spirit of mutual understanding and constructive engagement.
The Deputy Chairman of the Majlisi Namoyandagon, Mavsuma Muini, the Chairman of the Committee on Agrarian Issues, Water and Land Resources, Rustam Latifzoda, the Member of the Committee on Science, Education, Culture and Youth Policy, Jamila Musojonzoda, and the Member of the Committee on International Affairs, Public Associations and Information, Firuz Haqnazarzoda, also delivered speeches addressing the history, essence, significance, and other virtues and distinctive features of the International Navruz.
In conclusion, Faizali Idizoda stated that throughout its millennia-long history, Navruz has endured numerous trials and challenges and, as an enduring symbol of Aryan civilization, with its life-affirming essence and content, continues to be celebrated to this day as a symbol of purity and renewal.
At these joyful moments, once again, sincere congratulations were extended to all distinguished participants and to the proud people of Tajikistan on the occasion of the ancient festival of Navruz and the advent of the holy month of Ramadan, with wishes for happiness, prosperity, a fruitful spring, and further achievements.
