Shohmurod Rustam, Chairman of the Committee of the Majlisi Namoyandagon on Legislation and Human Rights, participated and spoke at the regular meeting of the Permanent Commission of the Inter-parliamentary Assembly of Member Nations of the Commonwealth of Independent States (IPA CIS) on Legal Issues. The meeting, held at the invitation of the IPA CIS, took place from March 12 to 13 of this year in St. Petersburg, the Russian Federation.
Ten issues were considered during the meeting. In particular, the new draft Regulations on the IPA CIS Permanent Commissions and the draft Regulations on the Legislative Activity of the IPA CIS were among the items discussed.
It should be noted that coordinated conclusions from the Committee on Legislation and Human Rights of the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan were submitted regarding both draft projects. These conclusions were deemed generally acceptable.
Additionally, the meeting included a discussion on the use of model laws and other normative acts developed by the IPA CIS within the legislative activities of the parliaments of CIS member states.
