Today, a festive gathering dedicated to March 8 – Mother’s Day was held at the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan. During his speech, Faizali Idizoda, Chairman of the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, noted that it is a source of great joy and pride for him to meet with everyone on the eve of the most beloved and beautiful spring holiday — March 8, Mother’s Day — and to sincerely congratulate all attendees, and through them, all dear and kind mothers and sisters, on this uplifting celebration.
Mother’s Day holds a special place and deserves great respect among other national, traditional, and international holidays. This beloved and cherished celebration comes with the arrival of gentle spring — the season of renewal, beauty, and the blossoming of nature, as well as the beginning of hopeful aspirations and noble dreams. Both spring and mother are life-giving, reviving, and nurturing sources of life.
The Republic of Tajikistan is among the first countries that, after gaining independence, increased care and support for women and mothers, elevating this issue to the level of state policy and making it a significant pillar of national governance.
The Head of State — the Leader of the Nation, Esteemed Emomali Rahmon, has paid special attention to strengthening and enhancing the role of women in society. In particular, he has stated:
"Woman is the creator and educator of humankind and the unparalleled teacher of a child. The first school of a person is the school of the mother, where all of us, under her care and affection, have grown up and learned the lessons of humanity. It is precisely by addressing the issue of the status of women in society that we can hope to build a stable, just, and comprehensively developed society."
We take pride in the fact that throughout the more than hundred-thousand-year history of our nation, wise, honorable, and dignified Tajik women and mothers, endowed with insight and wisdom, have stood alongside men and bravely struggled to protect the homeland’s borders, territory, language, freedom, independence, and peace.
In these prosperous times, Tajik women and mothers continue to move forward in step with the times, fulfilling their maternal mission and civic duty with great responsibility. They contribute to the development and strengthening of noble and lofty human values, especially by raising their children in a strong spirit of patriotism, fostering national self-awareness and identity, instilling pride in the state and statehood, and reinforcing peace and national unity. Through these efforts, they have earned the respect and appreciation of society.
The First Deputy Chairman of the Majlisi Namoyandagon, Shermuhammad Shohiyon, the Deputy Chairman Aziz Giyozoda, as well as deputies of the Majlisi Namoyandagon, Ghayrat Azizoda — a member of the Committee on State Structure and Local Self-Government — and Komiljon Shamsherzoda — a member of the Committee on International Affairs, Public Associations, and Information — also delivered speeches and congratulated women and ladies on the occasion of Mother’s Day.
