Today, a ceremonial meeting dedicated to the 33rd anniversary of the Armed Forces Day of the Republic of Tajikistan was held at the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan.
Addressing the festive gathering, the Chairman of the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, Faizali Idizoda, emphasized that during the years of the country’s independence, the establishment of the Armed Forces stands among the most significant achievements of the Tajik nation, representing a major accomplishment in state-building and in strengthening independence.
Indeed, alongside other factors, it was precisely through the formation of military units and power structures that the protection of the state’s territorial integrity and the attainment of peace and national unity became possible.
In this context, the National Army, as one of the fundamental pillars of modern Tajik statehood, plays a vital role in further strengthening the foundations of the national state and State Independence.
With profound pride, he cordially congratulated all those present on the occasion of the thirty-third anniversary of the establishment of the National Army of independent Tajikistan and wished them continued good health and lasting prosperity.
In the history of modern Tajik statehood, the role and contribution of the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, in restoring the fundamental pillars of statehood, ensuring peace and stability, promoting the steady development of all sectors, enhancing Tajikistan’s standing in the international arena, and, in this context, establishing the National Army — the most important component of national statehood and a reliable shield of our beloved Motherland — are of immense significance.
As the Leader of the Nation has repeatedly emphasized, the Armed Forces, including the National Army, law enforcement agencies, and other military structures, through the dedication and selfless service of the loyal and honorable sons of the Motherland, have made a significant contribution to restoring constitutional order and creating the foundations of peace, stability, social harmony, and national unity. Over the years, the personnel of the Armed Forces of Tajikistan, under the leadership and direct command of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, have repeatedly demonstrated their loyalty to the people, the Motherland, and the state.
In particular, the Armed Forces, other military structures, and law enforcement bodies of Tajikistan faithfully fulfilled their patriotic duty during the extremely sensitive and decisive early years of independence, especially during the imposed civil war, which posed a real threat of national disintegration and the loss of Tajik statehood.
Today, the National Army of independent Tajikistan has developed into a well-organized and powerful structure and one of the key pillars of modern Tajik statehood, serving as a guarantor of peace, unity, and the peaceful life of the people of Tajikistan.
The Chairman of the Committee on Law and Order, Defense and Security, Mahmudzoda Nasrullo; the Chairman of the Commission on Deputies’ Ethics, Shodizoda Parviz and the member of the Committee on Legislation and Human Rights, Ahrorzoda Shukhrat, delivered presentations to the audience on the path traversed by the National Army over its 33 years of existence.
At the conclusion of the event, the Chairman of the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, Faizali Idizoda, noted that defending the Motherland is not only a legal obligation but also a moral and patriotic duty of every citizen.
The constitutional duties of citizens of the Republic of Tajikistan are defined in Articles 42–45 of the Constitution. Among other constitutional obligations, the defense of the Motherland and the protection of state interests are emphasized as sacred duties of citizens.
At the end of the ceremony, several deputies of the Majlisi Namoyandagon who are members of the standing commissions of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, as well as staff members of the Office of the Majlisi Namoyandagon, were awarded medals and certificates of honor of the Parliamentary Assembly.
