Today, the Chairman of the Committee of the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan on International Affairs, Public Associations and Information, Gulzoda Mahmadshoh, met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to the Republic of Tajikistan, Mr. Guo Zhijun.
It was noted that since the establishment of diplomatic relations, bilateral ties between our countries have been developing on the basis of mutual respect, equality, and mutual benefit.
During this period, Tajikistan and China have opened a new chapter in their centuries-old friendship and, having confidently withstood the challenges of the turbulent international situation, have elevated their relations from good-neighbourliness to a strategic partnership. Owing to the political will and joint efforts of the leaders of Tajikistan and China — the Leader of the Nation, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, and His Excellency Xi Jinping — these relations have reached a high level of strategic partnership, creating a solid foundation for the further expansion of multifaceted cooperation.
Exchanges between legislative bodies constitute an important component of Tajikistan–China relations. In recent years, the legislative authorities of both countries have maintained close contacts and cooperation, playing a significant role in advancing bilateral relations.
We express satisfaction with the positive dynamics of inter-parliamentary cooperation and the expansion of ties between the legislative bodies of the two countries. With the establishment of Friendship and Cooperation Groups between the parliaments of both countries, we hope that these groups will play an even more constructive and active role in strengthening mutual understanding and friendship between the two peoples.
“I am confident that through our joint efforts, Tajikistan–China relations will have an even brighter and broader future,” M. Gulzoda stated.
