Today, the Chairman of the Committee on Law and Order, Defense and Security of the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, Nasrullo Mahmudzoda, met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to the Republic of Tajikistan, Mr. Guo Zhijun.
It was noted that Tajikistan and China are linked by a comprehensive strategic partnership based on mutual respect, equality, and consideration of each other’s interests.
In this process, inter-parliamentary friendship groups and cooperation play a special role. Their activities contribute to establishing direct and trust-based contacts between deputies, expanding the exchange of views, and forming sustainable cooperative ties between the parliaments of our countries. We believe that the potential of friendship groups requires further activation.
The Inter-Parliamentary Friendship and Cooperation Group with the National People’s Congress of the People’s Republic of China was among the first such groups established after Tajikistan gained state independence and formed its Parliament.
In this regard, the Tajik side is interested in further developing cooperation at the level of sectoral committees, parliamentary commissions, and friendship groups between the Majlisi Namoyandagon and the National People’s Congress of China.
We attach special importance to cooperation in the field of regional security and stability and highly appreciate China’s contribution to ensuring regional stability and security, as well as to the socio-economic development of Tajikistan.
The advanced experience of the People’s Republic of China in ensuring national security legislation, improving legal mechanisms, and strengthening parliamentary oversight is worthy of study.
In conclusion, Nasrullo Mahmudzoda stated that today’s meeting represents another important step toward strengthening friendship and the comprehensive strategic partnership between our countries, as well as inter-parliamentary cooperation between Tajikistan and China, and will give new impetus to cooperation between the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan and the National People’s Congress of the People’s Republic of China.
