Moscow, 08 December 2025 – Today, President Vladimir Putin of the Russian Federation held a meeting with the Chairpersons of the Parliaments of the member states of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), who had arrived in Moscow to participate in the session of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly. Mr. Faizali Idizoda, Chairman of the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, also took part in the meeting.
During the meeting, discussions focused on strengthening cooperation in the field of security and advancing inter-parliamentary relations.
The President of the Russian Federation underscored the pivotal role of parliamentary diplomacy in deepening integration processes within the CSTO framework.
He noted that the Parliamentary Assembly was established nearly 20 years ago, in 2006, and has since made a substantial contribution to the development and harmonization of legislation in member states, particularly in the areas of defense and security. He specifically highlighted the Model Law on Combating Terrorism as a key element of the normative framework, without which the practical adoption of decisions would be significantly more challenging.
President Putin expressed his gratitude to the delegations of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly for their participation in the session.
In turn, the Chairpersons of the CSTO parliaments conveyed their appreciation for the opportunity to engage in direct dialogue with the Russian leadership and reaffirmed their readiness to further strengthen cooperation.
