Today, an international scientific–practical conference on “Preventing Corruption as a Means of Protecting Human Rights and Ensuring National Security: Challenges and Solutions” was held in Dushanbe, in which Ghairat Azizzoda, deputy of the Majlisi Namoyandagon and member of the Committee on State Structure and Local Self-Government, participated and delivered a speech.
Ghairat Azizzoda noted that corruption is like a plague that not only weakens the economy, the state system, and the sustainable development of society, but also threatens human rights and freedoms. This negative phenomenon undermines public trust in state bodies and the legislative system and weakens the key structures of society. Therefore, the prevention of corruption, as an effective means of protecting human rights and freedoms, must be one of the strategic and practical priorities for every state and every governmental institution.
The Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, has repeatedly emphasized: “Combating corruption and strengthening transparency in public administration ensure the foundations of sustainable development and the protection of human rights.” This message can be adopted as a strategic guideline at all levels of public administration and in society, Azizzoda stated.
He further emphasized that the use of digital technologies in the legislative system enables effective prevention of corruption, strengthens citizens’ trust in the state, and enhances the protection of human rights and freedoms.
Additionally, international cooperation and the exchange of best practices create conditions for identifying the most effective methods of combating corruption and mechanisms for ensuring human rights, and for implementing them within the framework of Tajikistan’s national policy and strategic priorities.
