By the wise initiative of the esteemed Leader of the Nation, respected Emomali Rahmon, the adoption of the State Flag as a symbol of the independent state of Tajikistan, a sign of sovereignty and unity, at the historic 16th session of the Supreme Council, is considered one of the most important achievements.
After being elected as Head of State, the beloved Leader of the Nation, Emomali Rahmon, began his activities by kissing the State Flag. He emphasized that the State Flag represents the aspirations of the nation and the spirit of the honorable people of independent Tajikistan, serving as a unifying symbol of the nation.
Indeed, through this act, the Leader of the Nation, Emomali Rahmon, instilled in the citizens of the country a genuine love for and deep respect toward the State Flag of Tajikistan.
In the new historical stage of our statehood, during the period of state independence, the adoption of the State Flag added new meaning and content to the processes of governance and to the life and consciousness of our people. Our people recognized the historical and spiritual significance of the State Flag, which in history is referred to as the “Dirafshi Kaviyan,” as a highly important and valuable national symbol, inspiring faith and trust.

Through the adoption of political symbols, especially the State Flag, and through the tireless efforts of the esteemed Leader of the Nation, Emomali Rahmon, peace was achieved, and the state took its first firm steps toward major political, social, and constructive transformations.
