Today, the Chairman of the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, Faizali Idizoda, held a meeting with the Chairman of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ms. Sahiba Ali gizi Gafarova, on the sidelines of the International Parliamentary Conference dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
During the meeting, Faizali Idizoda emphasized that participation in this significant event, dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan, is a matter of great pride. For the deputies of the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, cooperation with Azerbaijan based on the principles of mutual respect, constructive engagement, and goodwill, holds special significance. Interstate relations between Tajikistan and Azerbaijan, formalized through more than 94 international instruments, testify to the high effectiveness of the diplomatic efforts of our countries.
In this context, the particular importance of key foundational documents, including the Declaration on Strategic Cooperation between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Azerbaijan, was emphasized. This document will undoubtedly serve as a catalyst for further deepening bilateral relations between our countries in the long term.
The achievements in the development of bilateral relations between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Azerbaijan are the result of targeted diplomatic efforts, the strengthening of friendly ties, and the expression of political will by the Heads of State — the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, esteemed Emomali Rahmon, and the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, esteemed Ilham Heydar oglu Aliyev.
It was noted that inter-parliamentary diplomacy can serve as an effective instrument for achieving our common goals, ensuring productive and consistent links between friendship groups, promoting mutually beneficial interests, and expanding international dialogue.
The Majlisi Namoyandagon will continue its efforts to strengthen our partnership and further develop relations. We support the expansion, deepening, and consolidation of regional cooperation, particularly within the framework of international organizations.
In international relations, we consistently adhere to the principles of good-neighborliness and mutual benefit, supporting the constructive initiatives of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
“We advocate for enhancing the effectiveness of cooperation with the Republic of Azerbaijan within the frameworks of the UN, the Inter-Parliamentary Union, the OSCE, the CIS, TRACECA, the CICA, ECO, and other international and regional organizations,” concluded F. Idizoda.
